Being rather pushed for time, I’ve recycled a post from January of last year. It features water and boats. Apologies for the blatant cheatery, but I don’t think my Saturday Sepian friends will have seen this one before as it was written for a Geneabloggers meme.
I hope you are all having a good weekend – it has snowed here and is icy, but the stove is going well, so I am cosy. Hopefully you are keeping warm too 🙂
Visit my Sepia Saturday pals with your hot water bottle and check out what they came up with from the inspirational photo for this week. Remember to leave a comment if you are entertained/amused/appalled!

The second gentleman from the left must have been the daredevil of the four, just wearing swimming trunks. And you were right, I had never seen this post.
Yep, new to me too and a pleasure to read. Wearing a tie and suit while fishing seems to have been quite common back then. I wonder when people stopped thinking that was a good idea.
Very nice post Jo! The people in the photos looked like they were having fun. And yes, that last photo must have been a true family treasure.
Super set of photos ending with the best – a gentleman fishing, in tweeds and smoking a pipe, so contented it oesn’t matterif he doesn’t catch anything.
Hot water bottle:) It was nearly 40C (102F) here this week.
Lovely photos. I remember my grandfather going out to do farm work in a suit jacket – it was too old to wear in public but too good to throw out.
Certainly a fun set of photographs and I’m sure they had fun despite the cold water,
even in those swimsuits!!!

Lovely photos. The attire for tennis and fishing reminds me of the photos I have of my grandmother camping in a dress.
Wonderful post, Jo! Happiest New Year wishes to you and your family. Wishing you many family history discoveries in 2013!
